Caramel Carob Porridge

This 5 Ingredient caramel porridge is made with mejdool dates and a hint of carob powder. 

It's a little sweet but not to sweet, it's creamy and it has a hint of acidity to counter balance the richness of the porridge. 

A must try for date lovers & lovers of no artificial sweeteners. 

Serves 1-2 persons

Vegan & GF 



  • 3 mejdool dates 
  • 1 cup almond milk (or another vegetal milk) 
  • 1/2 banana 
  • 1/2 cup buckwheat flakes (or oats or any other cereal you may prefer)
  • 1/2 tsp carob powder (mine's from Charlie and the Carob Tree, love their blend)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)


  • Blueberries 
  • Black mulberries
  • Dried pomegranate seeds
  • Almond butter 
  • Banana 


Remove the seeds from the dates, then,

Add all ingredients in a pot (that you can place in the oven)

Mix everything well together to ensure the buckwheat is well assimilated

Place in the oven @200C for 10mins 

Carefully remove (don't burn yourself!) and all your toppings.

All toppings are optional; you can omit the acidic ingredients/toppings for example if you want your porridge to be simply rich and sweet, and just keep the banana, almond butter and add pecans.
